Mt. Fuji

So this past weekend was a fun one. On saturday July 12th I went to the Gunma prefecture in Japan and saw the Fukiware waterfall. It is considered to be the "Niagara of the East." It was so
beautiful. I also went blueberry picking at Harada's Farm and then went to the Kokeshi Doll Factory and saw how the Kokeshi Dolls are made.

Then on July 13th I decided it would be a good idea to climb Mt. Fuji. So i did. I took a couple days, so we could see the sunrise at the top, but it was well worth it. I don't know why anyone would climb this mountain twice, but I am sure happy I conquered it. I had a pretty good weekend and saw so much, I am very grateful to be in Japan.

Konnichiwa

This is my first real blog on blogger. I decided that it would be a cool to track my thoughts and activities from my day to day life and be able to look back on all of my experiences.

I am currently in Japan, spending a total of 3 months working for the Navy MWR Program. Right now I am at work, thinking about ideas for my menu.

So far since I have been in Japan I have experienced so much! I am slowly learning Japanese (spoken & written). I have gotten around Toyko, gone to the Izu Penninsula, explored local culture, going to Gunma, and my roomated and I might even go to Thailand!!

My roommate Carla and I are going to go up to Nikko for the weekend next week. This week I am going to the Gunma Prefecture to pick blueberries, see the fukiware waterfall, and go to the kokeshi doll factory. I am also climbing Mt. Fuji with my boss Rob this weekend. Mt. Fuji is going to kick my butt, but I am trying hard to get my legs ready for this trip. I know it will be rewarding to accomplish something like that. I would also like to go hangliding while I am here.

Anyways...back to work for now.
My roomates a dork.
